Information for Prospective Students

We welcome inquiries from motivated students who are interested in joining the CUVIC Lab. Prospective undergraduate students, graduate students, and visiting researchers are encouraged to review our research areas and recent publications before contacting us.

Our work spans theory, algorithms, and real-world implementation, and we welcome students across that spectrum, including those who enjoy building and experimenting, and want to turn their ideas into working systems.

1. Just want to talk first

If you are still figuring out whether this lab is a good fit, send a short email. No documents needed. A few sentences about who you are, what you are studying, and what caught your interest here is enough.

Please contact Prof. Jihun Han at jihun.han@kaist.ac.kr using one of the following email subject line:

  • Prospective Student Inquiry - [Your Name] - [Program/Position of Interest]
  • 예비 학생 문의 - [이름] - [관심 프로그램/포지션]

2. Ready to apply

When you decide to apply, please send the following so that we can give your application proper consideration:

  • CV or resume
  • Academic transcript (undergraduate, and graduate if applicable)
  • 1-2 page statement of research interests, including the research topics you would like to explore and how they relate to CUVIC Lab’s research

Please contact Prof. Jihun Han at jihun.han@kaist.ac.kr using one of the following email subject line:

  • Prospective Student Application - [Your Name] - [Program/Position of Interest]
  • 예비 학생 지원 - [이름] - [관심 프로그램/포지션]

Either way, looking through the research areas and recent publications first will make the conversation more productive.
